The Emmett Clinic just filed comments opposing EPA’s proposal to “Strengthen Transparency in Regulatory Science” on behalf of nearly 100 leaders in science and medicine from Harvard University. The proposed rule would bar EPA from relying on key peer-reviewed scientific and medical studies and would cripple EPA’s ability to fulfill its mandate to protect the public health and safety of Americans. Signatories to the comments urge EPA to withdraw the rule, and include the President of Harvard University, the Presidents and a number of Department Chairs and Chiefs of four of the world’s foremost research and teaching hospitals (Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts Eye and Ear, and Massachusetts General Hospital), the Deans of Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Harvard Medical School, preeminent faculty at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, the Harvard Medical School, and the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and numerous esteemed research and clinical doctors affiliated with Harvard and its research hospitals.
